A  large mutual fund company based in Boston, with a significant institutional book of business,  routinely onboards one or more new portfolios per month. While an equity-only portfolio generally requires a dozen or so new security setups, fixed income portfolios or those with a large number of options and futures can require 500+. The Epiphron DRTx®  platform is  pointed to a file/spreadsheet which lists all of the required securities and quickly determine those that are not currently set up in their OMS and accounting system. These missing securities are then requested, returned, translated and imported into the client’s OMS and are “tradable” in a matter of minutes.

A San Diego-based boutique small/mid-cap global asset manager performs a monthly rebalance operation upstream of their OMS. Given the size of the indices that benchmark their portfolios, rebalance operations routinely generate orders for 100+ securities that do not yet exist in their OMS. A Vancouver-based asset manager utilizes currency futures heavily for portfolio protection. The client requires that both their OMS and accounting system always have the next 4 series available on a go forward basis so they can perform high volume close/roll operations in a seamless manner. On a nightly basis, EpiphronDRTx® automatically analyzes their current holdings and determines a list of currency future’s root tickers, algorithmically determines the tickers for the next four expirations, determines if they're in the OMS or not and then requests/sets up any that are missing.

To service their collection of short, intermediate and long-term portfolios, a large Charlotte-based fixed income asset manager routinely requires 500+ new security setups per month.  The overwhelming number of the setup requests are the result of an unsolicited execution workflow from one or more of their Fixed Income EMS’ . A  New York based hedge fund has a heavy emphasis on utilizing options in various trading strategies. Requirements for option rolls are generated daily and communicated to the trading desk. A Chicago-based, traditional long-only mutual fund has an algorithmically determined (factors such as 'currently held', 'recently traded' , 'underlies any instrument' , 'belongs to index abc') list of approximately 15,000 securities that must be refreshed 3x daily in multiple internal investment systems. A boutique asset manager located in Philadelphia utilizes a multi-factor optimizer to determine how each account should cover various cash requirements. This often results in dozens or even hundreds of currency pair combinations that the OMS is either unaware of or contains data that is unacceptably stale. The client engaged Visus to integrate the Epiphron DRTx® API into their currency optimizer so that the optimizer could automatically initiate both new set up and refreshing of stale currency pair data.

A New York based client is heavily active in Hong Kong; both long and short. In order to maintain exchange compliance, their OMS compliance engine has been provided by the HK Stock Exchange a list of HK securities that are eligible for short selling.  Each evening, the client uses Epiphron DRTx® to query the HKSE website for the current list of “shortable” securities, evaluate if there are any missing in their OMS, and then automatically set up the missing securities.
